Campanula portenschlagiana 'Catharina'
Campanula portenschlagiana 'Catharina' is a charming low-growing perennial forming a dense mat of trailing green foliage covered with violet-blue, star-shaped flowers throughout summer. The colourful blooms create a bright, flowing display over walls, border edges and rock gardens.
This variety has a vigorous spreading habit that makes it particularly useful for groundcover, edging paths and softening raised beds or wall tops. The flowers are also attractive to bees and other pollinating insects, adding useful wildlife value through the summer months.
Hardy, reliable and exceptionally easy to grow, this perennial performs well in full sun or partial shade in moist but well-drained soil. It is also well suited to containers, rockeries and other positions where its trailing habit can be shown to best effect.
