Brunnera macrophylla 'Sterling Silver'
Brunnera macrophylla 'Sterling Silver' produces large, heart-shaped leaves with a bright silver finish. Its broad foliage forms a bold mound, bringing light and texture to shaded areas of the garden.
Small blue, forget-me-not-like flowers appear in spring, held above the leaves on slender stems. Plant in woodland borders, use as a foliage feature among ferns and hostas, or grow in a container where its large leaves can be appreciated.
Choose partial shade or shade and fertile, humus-rich soil that stays moist but drains well. Water during dry spells and remove old foliage in early spring. This herbaceous perennial dies back during winter.
