Azalea Care Sheet
Light: Prefers bright, indirect light. Avoid harsh midday sun indoors, but a cool bright windowsill is ideal for flowering.
Water: Keep soil evenly moist at all times. Do not allow the plant to dry out. Use soft, rain, or filtered water where possible, as azaleas dislike hard water.
Soil/Nutrition: Requires an acidic, peat-free ericaceous compost. Feed with an ericaceous fertiliser every 2–3 weeks during active growth but avoid feeding while in flower.
Humidity: Enjoys cool, humid conditions. Mist lightly, use a pebble tray, or display in a naturally humid room. Avoid hot, dry air from radiators.
Pruning and propagation: Remove faded blooms to prolong flower display. Lightly prune after flowering to maintain shape. Propagate from semi-ripe cuttings.
