Aster dumosus 'Blue Lapis'
Aster dumosus 'Blue Lapis', also known as Symphyotrichum dumosus 'Blue Lapis', is a compact, free-flowering perennial producing masses of rich blue, daisy-like flowers from late summer into autumn. The vibrant blooms create a colourful display when many other perennials are beginning to fade.
Its neat, bushy habit makes 'Blue Lapis' ideal for the front of borders, mixed perennial planting and patio containers. The flowers are particularly attractive to bees, butterflies and other pollinating insects, providing a valuable late-season source of nectar.
Hardy, reliable and easy to grow, 'Blue Lapis' performs best in a sunny position in moist but well-drained soil. The foliage dies back naturally in autumn before fresh growth returns the following spring.
