Asplenium scolopendrium 'Angustifolia'
Asplenium scolopendrium 'Angustifolia' is an elegant evergreen fern producing a rosette of narrow, glossy green fronds with gently ruffled edges. More slender than those of the traditional Hart's Tongue Fern, the upright and arching fronds create a refined, architectural appearance.
Its compact, clump-forming habit provides valuable year-round colour, texture and structure in shaded planting schemes. It combines beautifully with hostas, hellebores and other ferns, making it an excellent choice for woodland gardens, shaded borders and underplanting beneath trees and shrubs.
Hardy and low maintenance, 'Angustifolia' grows best in partial or full shade with humus-rich, moist but well-drained soil. Once established, it will tolerate periods of dry shade, although regular watering during its first growing season will encourage strong establishment.
