Anemone hupehensis 'Praecox'
Anemone hupehensis 'Praecox' is a spreading herbaceous perennial with single, bowl-shaped pink flowers surrounding golden-yellow centres. Slender, upright stems carry the blooms above a clump of lobed, dark green foliage.
Flowering in late summer and autumn, it brings colour and movement to mixed borders, cottage gardens and woodland edges. The open flowers provide nectar and pollen for bees and other pollinating insects, while its airy habit combines well with grasses and autumn-flowering perennials.
Grow in full sun or partial shade in moist but well-drained soil, avoiding excessive winter wet. Water during dry spells while establishing and allow room for the plant to spread. Cut back old stems in late autumn.
