Andromeda polifolia 'Blue Ice'
Andromeda 'Blue Ice' is a compact, spreading evergreen shrub valued for its distinctive matte blue-green foliage. The cool-toned leaves provide attractive year-round structure and contrast beautifully with surrounding planting.
In mid to late spring, clusters of nodding blush-pink, bell-shaped flowers appear above the foliage. These delicate blooms add seasonal interest and provide an early source of nectar for bees and other pollinating insects.
With its low, spreading habit, 'Blue Ice' is ideal for acidic borders, heath gardens and underplanting alongside Rhododendrons, Pieris and other ericaceous plants. Hardy and easy to maintain, it performs best in moist, acidic soil in sun or partial shade.
