Alocasia watsoniana ‘Lightning’
Alocasia ‘Lightning’ is a spectacular foliage houseplant with large, arrow-shaped leaves in deep, velvety green, dramatically highlighted by bright silvery-white veins. The strong contrast between the dark foliage and branching veins creates an almost lightning-like pattern, giving this unusual Alocasia a bold and highly architectural appearance.
Perfect as a statement plant in a bright, warm room, ‘Lightning’ looks particularly impressive on a plant stand or as part of a collection of unusual tropical foliage plants. Position in bright, indirect light and provide consistent warmth and humidity to keep its distinctive velvety leaves looking their best.

Alocasia Care Sheet
Light: Bright, indirect light is ideal. Avoid strong direct sunlight which can scorch the dark, velvety foliage.
Water: Water when the top few centimetres of compost begin to feel dry. Keep lightly moist during active growth but never allow the plant to sit in water.
Soil/Nutrition: Use a loose, free-draining aroid compost. Feed every 4-6 weeks during spring and summer with a balanced liquid houseplant fertiliser.
Humidity: Prefers higher humidity and consistent warmth. Keep away from cold draughts, radiators and very dry air.
Pruning and propagation: Remove yellowing or damaged leaves at the base. Mature plants can be propagated by carefully dividing offsets when repotting.
