Alocasia ‘Shattered Glass’
Alocasia ‘Shattered Glass’ is a striking and unusual foliage houseplant with bold, arrow-shaped leaves covered in irregular pale green to silvery markings. The shattered, almost mosaic-like variegation contrasts beautifully against the deeper green foliage, with every leaf developing its own individual pattern.
Perfect as a statement plant for a bright room, ‘Shattered Glass’ is particularly effective on a plant stand, side table or within a collection of unusual tropical plants. Give it plenty of bright, indirect light to encourage healthy growth and strong variegation, while keeping it away from cold draughts and harsh direct sun.

Alocasia Care Sheet
Light: Bright, indirect light is ideal, particularly for maintaining strong variegation. Avoid harsh direct sunlight which can scorch the leaves.
Water: Water when the top few centimetres of compost begin to feel dry. Keep lightly moist during active growth but never allow the plant to sit in water.
Soil/Nutrition: Use a loose, free-draining aroid compost. Feed every 4-6 weeks during spring and summer with a balanced liquid houseplant fertiliser.
Humidity: Prefers warm conditions with higher humidity. Keep away from cold draughts and very dry air.
Pruning and propagation: Remove yellowing or damaged leaves at the base. Mature plants can be propagated by carefully dividing offsets when repotting.
