Acer pseudoplatanus 'Simon-Louis Frères'
Acer 'Simon-Louis Frères' is a deciduous tree prized for its colourful variegated foliage. Young leaves emerge pink in spring before developing irregular green and creamy-white markings, creating a changing display through the growing season.
Slower growing than the common sycamore, it develops a broadly spreading crown that makes an attractive specimen for larger gardens. Its pale foliage contrasts beautifully with darker trees and shrubs, bringing light and seasonal interest to mixed planting schemes.
Grow in full sun or partial shade in moist but well-drained soil, choosing a sheltered position to protect the foliage. Water regularly while establishing and allow room for the crown to develop. Remove any shoots producing entirely green leaves to preserve the variegated display.
