Acer palmatum 'Coonara Pygmy'

Acer 'Coonara Pygmy' is a compact, slow-growing deciduous Japanese maple with a naturally rounded, bushy habit. Its small, five-lobed leaves emerge bright green and form a dense canopy of finely textured foliage through spring and summer.

In autumn, the foliage develops a beautiful succession of colours, changing through yellow and orange before taking on rich pink-red tones. Its compact growth makes 'Coonara Pygmy' particularly well suited to smaller gardens, courtyards, rock gardens and patio containers.

Hardy and easy to grow, 'Coonara Pygmy' performs best in a sheltered position in partial shade and moist but well-drained soil. Avoid very exposed sites and ensure container-grown plants are kept adequately watered during dry weather.
