Abies koreana

Abies koreana is a slow-growing evergreen conifer with a neat, conical habit and attractive dark green needles with silvery-white undersides. The foliage creates a dense, architectural specimen that provides reliable colour and structure throughout the year.

One of its most distinctive features is the upright blue-purple cones, which can appear even on relatively young trees and provide striking contrast against the foliage. Its naturally symmetrical form makes it an excellent specimen tree for lawns, borders and larger planting schemes.

Hardy and reliable, Abies koreana performs best in full sun in fertile, moist but well-drained soil with an acidic to neutral pH. Growth is relatively slow at around 10-15cm per year, making it easier to accommodate than many larger firs.
