Gaultheria mucronata 'Lilian'
Gaultheria mucronata 'Lilian', formerly known as Pernettya 'Lilian', is a compact evergreen shrub with a neat habit and attractive glossy green foliage. Its dense growth provides reliable year-round colour and structure in borders and containers.
Small bell-shaped flowers appear during summer and, when pollinated by a compatible male plant, develop into masses of soft pink berries. The decorative fruits ripen in autumn and remain attractive well into winter, bringing gentle colour to the garden during the colder months.
Hardy and easy to grow, 'Lilian' performs best in moist, well-drained acidic soil in full sun or partial shade. It is ideal for winter containers, ericaceous borders and woodland-style planting, with a male Gaultheria planted nearby to ensure good berry production.
