Gaultheria mucronata 'Snow White', formerly known as Pernettya 'Snow White', is a compact female evergreen shrub with glossy dark green foliage. Its dense, neat habit provides reliable year-round colour and structure in borders, containers and woodland-style planting schemes.
Small, inconspicuous flowers appear during summer and, when pollinated by a compatible male plant, develop into clusters of striking bright white berries. The decorative fruits ripen in autumn and remain attractive well into winter, providing valuable colour during the colder months.
Hardy and low maintenance, 'Snow White' thrives in moist, well-drained acidic soil in full sun or partial shade. It is ideal for ericaceous borders, woodland gardens and patio containers, with a male Gaultheria planted nearby to ensure reliable berry production.
