Calathea crocata
Calathea crocata – A striking foliage plant known for its deep green, velvety leaves with rich purple undersides and vibrant orange-yellow flowers that rise like flames above the foliage. Also called the Eternal Flame plant, it brings colour and contrast to bright, humid indoor spaces.

Calathea Care Sheet
Light: Prefers bright, indirect light. Tolerates lower light but may flower less. Avoid direct sunlight, which can scorch the leaves.
Water: Keep soil evenly moist but not soggy. Water when the top 2–3cm of soil are dry. Use filtered or rainwater if possible.
Soil/Nutrition: Use a rich, well-draining houseplant compost. Feed monthly during spring and summer with a balanced, diluted fertiliser.
Humidity: Needs high humidity to thrive. Mist regularly, use a pebble tray, or place near a humidifier.
Pruning & Propagation: Remove faded flowers and damaged leaves. Can be divided during repotting in spring.
