Satureja montana - Winter Savoury - is a semi-evergreen shrubby herb which can be picked all year round. It has small, peppery-tasting leaves that have many culinary uses. White flowers are borne from June - October.
To use fresh leaves in the kitchen, strip them from the stems, then chop finely. They can be added to a range of dishes, including beans, lentils, soups and stews.
