Viola 'Heartthrob'
Viola 'Heartthrob' is a distinctive foliage-focused perennial grown primarily for its striking heart-shaped leaves. Each leaf features a rich burgundy centre surrounded by bright green margins, creating a bold contrast that brings colour and interest to the garden throughout the growing season.
The unique foliage forms attractive spreading clumps that work beautifully as ground cover, along pathways or beneath shrubs and larger perennials. Its ornamental leaves provide a valuable textural element and pair particularly well with silver, green and flowering plants in mixed planting schemes.
Easy to grow and low maintenance, 'Heartthrob' thrives in full sun or partial shade in moist, well-drained soil. It is equally effective in borders, woodland-style gardens and patio containers, where its unusual foliage can be appreciated at close quarters.
