Trachycarpus fortunei

Trachycarpus fortunei is a striking evergreen palm valued for its large, fan-shaped leaves and distinctive fibrous trunk. Its bold architectural form brings an exotic, tropical feel to gardens while being surprisingly hardy in the UK.

As the plant matures, the deep green leaves form a broad crown above the trunk, creating an impressive focal point. Established plants may also produce clusters of small yellow flowers in summer, followed by dark blue-black fruits on female plants when pollinated.
