Thuja occidentalis 'Hetz Midget'
Thuja occidentalis 'Hetz Midget' is a charming dwarf conifer that naturally forms a neat, dense ball of soft light green foliage. Its compact habit and slow growth rate make it an excellent choice for smaller gardens, rockeries, alpine beds and decorative containers where year-round structure is required. Throughout the growing season, the finely textured foliage maintains a fresh green appearance before developing attractive bronze tones during the winter months. This subtle seasonal colour change adds further interest while retaining the plant's tidy, rounded shape.
A holder of the RHS Award of Garden Merit, this reliable and easy-to-grow variety requires very little maintenance and rarely needs pruning. Ideal for creating structure in mixed borders or as a focal point in troughs and containers, it performs best in a sunny or lightly shaded position with well-drained soil.
