Syringa chinensis 'Saugeana' is a compact lilac with deep purple buds opening to soft lilac-pink flowers in May. ‘Saugeana’ is a Chinese lilac cultivar known for its abundance of fragrant blooms and a more delicate, arching habit than common lilacs. Flowering slightly earlier than many larger varieties, it’s ideal for smaller gardens, mixed borders, or container growing. The richly scented flowers are highly attractive to bees and butterflies.
