Stephania erecta
Stephania erecta is a fascinating caudiciform houseplant grown for its distinctive round, shield-like leaves held on slender upright stems above a large exposed bulbous tuber. The unusual swollen base gives it a sculptural, almost bonsai-like presence, while the delicate circular foliage adds a light, airy elegance.
Perfect for bright indoor spaces, it works beautifully as a statement plant on shelves or side tables where its unique form can be appreciated. Often grown with the caudex partially exposed above the soil, it makes an eye-catching conversation piece for modern interiors and collectors of unusual plants.
