Stachys byzantina
Stachys byzantina is a popular evergreen perennial valued for its soft, silvery-grey foliage that forms dense carpets of velvety leaves. Often grown primarily for its striking texture, the foliage adds contrast and interest to borders, gravel gardens and edging along sunny pathways.
In early to mid summer, upright spikes of small purple-pink flowers rise above the foliage, attracting bees and other pollinators. Drought tolerant once established and very easy to grow, it thrives in full sun and well-drained soil, making it ideal for dry gardens and low-maintenance planting schemes.
