Senecio scaposus 'Snow Peaks'
Senecio scaposus 'Snow Peaks' is a compact succulent with fleshy, finger-like leaves covered in a silvery-white, woolly coating. The leaves form upright, spreading rosettes, giving the plant a distinctive frosted appearance. In summer, established plants may produce yellow, daisy-like flowers on slender stems above the foliage.
Ideal for sunny windowsills and bright indoor succulent displays, its pale foliage contrasts beautifully with greener plants. This drought-tolerant succulent needs free-draining compost and infrequent watering. Handle the leaves gently, as their delicate white covering can rub away.
- Other names: Silver Coral, Caputia scaposa 'Snow Peaks'
- Useful to know: Toxic if ingested - keep away from pets and children
- Feature: Silvery-white, woolly foliage with occasional yellow summer flowers
- Care: Avoid rubbing the leaves, which can damage their woolly coating
- Eventual size: Approximately 15–20cm tall, with individual rosettes around 12–15cm across; forms wider clumps over time
- Origins: South Africa
