Scutellaria 'Texas Rose'
Scutellaria 'Texas Rose' is a compact, mound-forming evergreen perennial with small grey-green, softly hairy leaves. Its tidy shrubby habit makes an attractive low cushion for the front of sunny borders and alpine displays.
Masses of bright pink to pink-red tubular flowers appear from early summer into autumn. The long flowering season brings vivid colour and the blooms can attract visiting bees.
Drought tolerant once established, 'Texas Rose' prefers light, sharply drained neutral to alkaline soil in full sun or light partial shade. It is ideal for rockeries, scree beds, troughs and patio containers in a sheltered position.
