Rhaphidophora tetrasperma ‘Variegata’ is a highly sought-after climbing houseplant with beautifully variegated green and creamy-white foliage. As the plant matures, its leaves develop distinctive splits and cut-outs, creating a miniature Monstera-like appearance, while the unpredictable variegation means every new leaf can bring a different pattern.
Perfect for bright rooms with plenty of indirect light, ‘Variegata’ looks particularly impressive trained up a moss pole or other support where it can develop larger, more mature foliage. Its climbing habit and striking colouring make it an excellent statement plant for living rooms, offices and carefully curated indoor plant collections.

Rhaphidophora Care Sheet
Light: Bright, indirect light is ideal and helps maintain strong variegation. Avoid harsh direct sunlight which can scorch the paler areas of the leaves.
Water: Water when the top few centimetres of compost feel dry. Allow excess water to drain freely and avoid keeping the roots constantly wet.
Soil/Nutrition: Use a free-draining aroid compost with plenty of aeration. Feed every 4-6 weeks during spring and summer with a balanced liquid fertiliser.
Humidity: Average household humidity is suitable, although moderate to higher humidity can encourage healthy growth.
Pruning and propagation: Provide a moss pole or support for climbing and trim stems as required to control growth. Propagate from stem cuttings containing at least one node.
