Photinia x fraseri 'Red Robin'
Photinia x fraseri 'Red Robin' is a dense, medium-sized evergreen shrub with glossy, elliptic leaves and a naturally upright habit. Its brightest feature is the flush of vivid red new growth and crimson young stems, which contrast strongly with the mature deep green foliage.
Small clusters of white flowers may appear in mid to late spring, adding further seasonal interest and providing a useful source of nectar for pollinating insects. These can occasionally be followed by rounded red fruits later in the season.
Reliable and versatile, 'Red Robin' is ideal for hedging, screening or growing as a specimen shrub. It responds well to regular clipping, making it easy to maintain at the required size, and performs well in a wide range of garden situations including urban planting.
