Pear 'Williams' Bon Chrétien' (Quince Eline) - Cordon

Pear 'Williams' Bon Chrétien' is a classic dessert pear, producing medium to large yellow-green fruits with sweet, juicy and aromatic flesh. One of the best-known traditional pear varieties, it has an excellent flavour and is ideal for eating fresh as well as cooking and preserving.

White blossom appears in spring, followed by fruit that is typically ready to harvest from mid to late September. 'Williams' Bon Chrétien' belongs to pollination group 3 and crops best when grown near another compatible pear variety that flowers at a similar time.

This tree is supplied as a cordon on Quince Eline rootstock, which helps restrict its vigour and makes it particularly suitable for smaller gardens and trained fruit growing. Cordons are ideal for growing against wires, fences or walls and provide a productive way to grow fruit where space is limited.
