Opuntia jamaicensis var. ‘Ghost’ is an unusual and highly sought-after form of Opuntia, prized for its pale, ghostly blue-green pads that almost appear frosted or powder-washed. Cactus Care Sheet
Light: Requires plenty of bright, direct sunlight. A south- or west-facing window is ideal to maintain compact growth and pad colour
Water: Water sparingly. Allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings. Reduce watering significantly in winter
Soil/Nutrition: Use a coarse, free-draining cactus mix with added sand or grit. Feed monthly during spring and summer with a diluted cactus fertiliser
Humidity: Prefers low humidity and excellent airflow. Do not mist
Pruning and propagation: Remove damaged pads with clean tools. Propagate easily by allowing detached pads to callus and rooting them in dry substrate
