Opuntia jamaicensis var. ‘Ghost’ is an unusual and highly sought-after form of Opuntia, prized for its pale, ghostly blue-green pads that almost appear frosted or powder-washed. The flattened segments develop a soft, matte finish and subtle speckling, giving the plant an ethereal, sculptural quality unlike typical prickly pears.
Thriving in bright, sunny locations, this compact cactus is perfect for windowsills, conservatories, or arid indoor displays. Its minimal-care nature makes it an excellent choice for collectors or anyone looking to add bold architectural interest to their plant collection.

Cactus Care Sheet
Light: Requires plenty of bright, direct sunlight. A south- or west-facing window is ideal to maintain compact growth and pad colour
Water: Water sparingly. Allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings. Reduce watering significantly in winter
Soil/Nutrition: Use a coarse, free-draining cactus mix with added sand or grit. Feed monthly during spring and summer with a diluted cactus fertiliser
Humidity: Prefers low humidity and excellent airflow. Do not mist
Pruning and propagation: Remove damaged pads with clean tools. Propagate easily by allowing detached pads to callus and rooting them in dry substrate
