Monstera obliqua 'Mayuna Variegata'
Monstera obliqua 'Mayuna Variegata' is an exceptionally rare collector's Monstera, combining the extraordinarily delicate, heavily fenestrated foliage of Monstera obliqua with striking golden-yellow variegation. As the plant matures, its leaves can develop extensive openings that leave an intricate framework of living tissue, giving the foliage an almost skeletal appearance.
The aurea variegation adds another layer of interest, with warm yellow and golden tones appearing unpredictably across the green leaves. Each new leaf can develop differently, making this a plant to grow slowly, observe closely and enjoy as it matures. Given warm, humid conditions and something to climb, the foliage can become increasingly dramatic over time.
This is very much a plant for the dedicated aroid collector rather than a beginner. Monstera obliqua appreciates stable warmth, high humidity and careful watering, while its particularly thin leaves can be more sensitive to dry air and environmental changes than those of more familiar Monstera varieties.

Monstera obliqua Care
Light: Bright, indirect light; good light levels help support healthy growth and variegation while strong direct sun may scorch the delicate foliage
Water: Keep the compost lightly and evenly moist during active growth, allowing the surface to begin drying before watering again
Humidity: Requires high humidity and performs best in a stable, humid environment away from dry air and radiators
Temperature: Keep consistently warm, ideally above 18°C, and protect from cold draughts and sudden temperature changes
Feeding: Feed lightly with a balanced houseplant fertiliser during spring and summer
Support: Provide a moss pole or other climbing support to encourage stronger growth and increasingly mature foliage
