Monstera deliciosa 'Super White'
Monstera deliciosa 'Super White' is an exceptional collector's houseplant, prized for its extremely high levels of white variegation. Often producing leaves dominated by creamy white with contrasting areas of green, each new leaf develops its own unique pattern, creating a spectacular and ever-changing display.
Also known as 'Snow White', this highly variegated Monstera requires more careful attention than greener forms. The white areas contain little or no chlorophyll, making them more sensitive to changes in light, watering and humidity and particularly prone to browning. Minor cosmetic damage can occur during transport or as the plant acclimatises to a new environment. Best suited to experienced plant growers due to their higher maintenance requirements, it requires excellent bright, indirect light and consistently good growing conditions.

- Feature: Exceptional predominantly white variegation with contrasting green markings
- Eventual height: Can climb to approximately 200cm indoors with suitable support
- Origins: Cultivated variegated form of Monstera deliciosa, a species native to tropical Central America
Monstera Care
Light: Provide plenty of bright, indirect light to support the highly variegated foliage; avoid harsh direct sunlight which can scorch the white areas
Water: Water when the top few centimetres of compost have dried, allowing excess water to drain freely and never leaving the roots waterlogged
Humidity: Prefers moderate to high humidity with good air circulation; stable humidity can help reduce browning of the white foliage
Temperature: Keep warm, ideally between 18°C and 27°C, and protect from cold draughts and sudden temperature changes
Feeding: Feed regularly but lightly with a balanced houseplant fertiliser during spring and summer
Variegation: The white sections contain little or no chlorophyll and are naturally more delicate; some browning of highly variegated areas can occur even under good growing conditions
Growth: Provide a moss pole or other support to encourage climbing growth and larger mature leaves
