Leucothoe fontanesiana 'Color Diamond'
Leucothoe 'Color Diamond' is a compact evergreen shrub grown for its glossy, variegated foliage. The leaves combine green and creamy white with pink and red tones, creating a colourful display that changes through the seasons.
Autumn and winter bring richer foliage colour, adding interest when many other plants are dormant. Its neat, bushy habit suits patio containers, smaller borders and woodland-style planting, where it combines well with other shrubs that enjoy acidic soil.
Grow in partial shade in moist but well-drained, acidic soil, using ericaceous compost for containers. Water regularly during dry spells and avoid allowing the rootball to dry out. Little pruning is needed beyond removing damaged shoots or lightly shaping the plant.
