Leptinella 'Platt's Black'
Leptinella 'Platt's Black' is a low-growing, spreading semi-evergreen perennial prized for its finely divided bronze-black foliage with contrasting green tips. The fern-like leaves create a rich, textured carpet throughout much of the year.
Small yellow-green button flowers may appear in summer, although the dramatic dark foliage remains the main attraction. Its creeping habit provides excellent contrast beside pale gravel, stone and brighter alpine plants.
Adaptable to full sun or partial shade, 'Platt's Black' grows best in moist but well-drained soil. It is ideal for groundcover, path edging, rockeries, troughs and containers, and can be trimmed if it spreads beyond its allotted space.
