Lagerstroemia indica 'Black Diamond Best Red'
Lagerstroemia indica 'Black Diamond Best Red' is a striking deciduous shrub or small tree producing masses of vibrant red flowers from July through to October. The showy blooms are carried in generous clusters at the ends of the branches, with slightly waxy petals creating a bold and colourful summer display.
The flowers contrast beautifully against exceptionally dark, near-black foliage, giving 'Best Red' a dramatic appearance throughout the growing season. Smooth, glossy light brownish-pink branches provide additional interest after the leaves have fallen, extending its ornamental value into winter.
Ideal for adding strong colour to gardens, patios, courtyards and terraces, 'Best Red' can be grown in the ground or in a large container. Its relatively compact size also makes it suitable for smaller spaces where a distinctive flowering specimen is required.
