Isotoma fluviatilis
Isotoma fluviatilis is a low-growing, mat-forming perennial that creates a dense carpet of tiny green foliage covered with delicate star-shaped white to pale blue flowers throughout the warmer months. Its spreading habit makes it an excellent choice for filling gaps between paving stones, softening path edges and creating a living green carpet.
Exceptionally versatile and easy to grow, this ground cover plant tolerates light foot traffic and quickly establishes into a lush, weed-suppressing mat. The masses of small flowers provide a subtle yet attractive display from late spring through summer.
Thriving in full sun or partial shade, Isotoma fluviatilis performs best in moist, well-drained soil and is particularly effective in rockeries, alpine gardens, borders and around stepping stones where its spreading habit can be fully appreciated.
