Hosta sieboldiana var. elegans is a magnificent, large-leaved hosta prized for its bold, architectural presence in shaded gardens. It forms impressive clumps of broad, heavily textured blue-grey foliage, creating a striking focal point and excellent groundcover in cooler, sheltered areas.
In early to mid summer, tall stems rise above the foliage carrying pale lilac to white flowers, adding height and seasonal interest. Slow growing but long-lived, this classic variety is ideal for woodland planting, large borders or as a statement plant in shaded areas with moist, well-drained soil.
