Hibiscus syriacus 'Red Heart' is a beautiful deciduous shrub producing elegant single white flowers, each with a striking deep red eye at its centre. Flowering from mid to late summer and often continuing into autumn, it provides welcome colour when many other shrubs have finished blooming.
With a bushy, upright habit, this hardy hibiscus is ideal for mixed borders, cottage gardens and wildlife-friendly planting schemes. The fresh green foliage emerges in spring before falling in autumn, while the nectar-rich flowers are highly attractive to butterflies and other pollinators.
Easy to grow in a sunny, well-drained position, 'Red Heart' requires little maintenance beyond occasional selective pruning during winter to maintain its shape.
