Gleditsia triacanthos f. inermis 'Sunburst'
Gleditsia 'Sunburst' is a striking deciduous tree grown for its glowing golden-yellow foliage. In spring, the young leaves emerge a vivid chartreuse-yellow, maturing to a softer golden-green through summer before turning warm yellow again in autumn. Its fine, pinnate foliage gives the tree a light, airy texture, casting dappled shade that makes it particularly well suited to gardens where a softer canopy is desired.
This thornless variety has an elegant, spreading crown and is slower growing than other honey locusts, making it suitable for smaller gardens as well as larger landscapes. Hardy and tolerant, it thrives in most soils and copes well with urban conditions, wind, and drought once established. With its luminous foliage and graceful habit, ‘Sunburst’ is an outstanding specimen tree.
