Cotinus coggygria 'Lilla'
Cotinus 'Lilla' is a compact, slow-growing deciduous shrub with a neat, bushy habit and large, rounded leaves. The foliage emerges rich burgundy-purple in spring, providing strong colour and contrast throughout the growing season.
During summer, large feathery plumes of soft pink flowers develop above the foliage, creating the hazy, smoke-like effect that gives the plant its common name. In autumn, the leaves transform into vibrant shades of red, orange and yellow.
Ideal for smaller gardens, mixed borders and patio containers, 'Lilla' delivers the dramatic colour of a full-sized smoke bush in a more manageable form. It performs best in full sun or partial shade and fertile, well-drained soil, requiring little maintenance once established.
