Cornus kousa 'Cappuccino'
Cornus 'Cappuccino' - a novel cultivar featuring vibrant leaves. This deciduous shrub boasts a moderate size, with a dense, spreading growth pattern and horizontally oriented branches. Its oval-shaped leaves, intricately veined, initially appear green but take on a bronze hue later, transforming into rich burgundy-red and orange tones during the autumn season. In spring, inconspicuous true flowers blanket the shrub, surrounded by striking, four-petaled, pure white bracts measuring 3 inches (6-8 cm) wide, occasionally adorned with a hint of pink along the edges. Optimal flowering is observed following a warm summer. During autumn, the plant showcases pink, somewhat strawberry-like, edible fruits, creating a splendid visual display. With its distinctive horizontal architecture, Japanese dogwood Cappuccino stands out as an exceptional specimen shrub.
