Aster novi-belgii 'Showmakers Blue Bayou'

Aster 'Showmakers Blue Bayou' is a compact, bushy perennial producing masses of rich violet-blue, double flowers. The densely petalled blooms create a soft pom-pom effect above neat green foliage, bringing bold colour and texture to the garden.

Flowering from late summer into autumn, this attractive variety provides valuable colour when many other plants are beginning to fade. Its nectar-rich flowers are highly attractive to bees, butterflies and other pollinating insects, while the sturdy stems are also suitable for cutting.

Ideal for borders, containers and late-season displays, 'Showmakers Blue Bayou' performs best in full sun or partial shade with moist but well-drained soil. Keep in a sheltered position and protect from frost, particularly while young or when grown in containers.
