Clematis texensis 'Princess Kate'
Clematis texensis 'Princess Kate' is a distinctive deciduous climber producing elegant tulip-shaped flowers with crisp white interiors and rich reddish-purple outer petals. As the blooms open, their pointed tips gently reflex to reveal contrasting plum-purple stamens at the centre.
Flowering generously from early summer into early autumn, 'Princess Kate' provides a long season of colour and is attractive to pollinating insects. Its unusual flowers are also excellent for cutting and make a striking addition to summer arrangements.
Hardy and easy to grow, 'Princess Kate' is ideal for training over trellis, fences, arches and other supports in full sun or partial shade. As a Group 3 Clematis, it should be cut back hard in late winter or early spring to encourage vigorous new flowering growth.
