Clematis patens 'Shirayikihime'
Clematis patens 'Shirayikihime' is a medium-sized deciduous climber producing large white flowers, sometimes carrying a soft subtle tint as they open from May to June, with a second display around September. The clean pale flowers are particularly effective for brightening dark fences, shaded walls and mixed planting schemes.
It is particularly well suited to walls, trellis, pergolas and obelisks in gardens where a refined white-flowered Clematis is wanted.
Grow in sun or partial shade in rich, fertile, moist but well-drained soil, keeping the root area shaded. Prune lightly to strong buds on established stems.
