Clematis 'Proud Mary'
Clematis 'Proud Mary' is a compact, free-flowering climber producing an abundance of light purple-pink flowers with distinctive purple-red stripes. The blooms measure around 8-10cm across and are produced on both old and new growth, creating an impressive display over much of the plant.
A particularly attractive feature of 'Proud Mary' is its ability to flower from the bottom upwards, helping to create colour along the full height of the plant. Its compact growth makes it especially suitable for smaller gardens, patios and containers with suitable climbing support.
Easy to accommodate and highly floriferous, 'Proud Mary' is ideal for training over trellis, obelisks and other garden supports. Grow in sun or partial shade in fertile, moist but well-drained soil, with the roots kept cool and shaded where possible.
