Clematis montana 'Mayleen'
Clematis montana 'Mayleen' is a vigorous deciduous climber renowned for its beautifully scented flowers and striking new foliage. Fresh bronze leaves appear in spring, creating a warm backdrop for the masses of soft, light pink blooms produced from late spring into early summer. Each flower features four rounded, overlapping petals and carries a delightful fragrance that fills the air on warm days.
An early-season clematis from Pruning Group 1, ‘Mayleen’ flowers on wood produced the previous summer and requires minimal pruning. Its rapid growth and impressive size make it ideal for covering walls, pergolas, arbours or mature trees. Thriving in moist but well-drained soil in sun or part shade, it is a reliable, long-lived choice and holds the RHS Award of Garden Merit for its outstanding performance.
