Cherry 'Morello' is a traditional sour cherry valued for its reliable crops of deep red fruit with a rich, sharp flavour. The cherries ripen from late summer and are particularly well suited to cooking, preserves, pies and desserts.

Clusters of attractive white blossom appear in spring before the developing fruit, making 'Morello' both productive and ornamental. It is self-fertile, so a second cherry tree is not required for pollination, although planting alongside another compatible cherry can help increase yields.

'Morello' is particularly useful for cooler gardens as it will crop successfully in positions with less sun than many sweet cherries. Grow in fertile, well-drained soil and prune during the growing season to reduce the risk of disease. It can also be trained against a wall or fence where space is limited.
