Cercis griffithii 'Blue Lagoon' is a distinctive upright shrub or small tree prized for its unusual blue-grey, heart-shaped foliage. New branches emerge a rich dark red, creating a striking contrast with the cool-toned leaves and giving the plant a highly ornamental appearance throughout the growing season.

In spring, clusters of attractive pink flowers appear before the foliage develops, providing an early splash of colour and a valuable source of food for pollinating insects. The blue-grey leaves then remain colourful from spring through to autumn, giving Blue Lagoon a particularly long season of interest.

Compact, upright and low maintenance, Blue Lagoon is ideal as a feature plant in smaller gardens, mixed borders and contemporary planting schemes. Grow in full sun in moist but well-drained soil, with pruning carried out if required to maintain its shape.
