Begonia ‘Sumatra Spotted’
Begonia ‘Sumatra Spotted’ is a striking cane-style begonia grown for its elongated deep green leaves covered in dramatic silver spotting. The foliage is beautifully contrasted by rich burgundy-red undersides, creating a bold tropical look that stands out from every angle.
With its upright cane-forming habit and elegant arching stems, this begonia brings height, texture and exotic character to indoor plant displays. Mature plants may also produce delicate pale pink flowers, though the spectacular foliage remains the main attraction.

Begonia Care Sheet
Light: Prefers bright, indirect light. Avoid strong direct sunlight which may scorch the leaves and fade the silver markings.
Water: Allow the top few centimetres of compost to dry slightly between watering. Keep evenly moist but never waterlogged.
Soil/Nutrition: Use a light, airy and free-draining compost mix with added bark or perlite. Feed every 2–4 weeks during spring and summer.
Humidity: Enjoys moderate to high humidity and warm conditions. Benefits from grouping with other plants or using a humidifier nearby.
Pruning and propagation: Pinch out growing tips to encourage bushier growth and prune longer stems if needed. Easy to propagate from stem cuttings.
