Begonia 'Silver Spirit'
Begonia 'Silver Spirit' is a spectacular Super Rex begonia valued for its impressive size, vigorous growth and luminous silver foliage. The large leaves are predominantly silver, highlighted by a dramatic dark central star and finished with a contrasting dark picotee edge that enhances the bold leaf pattern.
Unlike many rex begonias, this variety develops into a substantial specimen plant, forming a tall, bushy habit that can reach up to 60cm in height. Its striking foliage creates a strong architectural presence indoors and can also be used outdoors during the warmer months as part of an exotic or subtropical planting scheme.

Begonia Care Sheet
Light: Bright, indirect light is best. Avoid direct sunlight, which can scorch the leaves and fade the dramatic foliage colours.
Water: Water when the top few centimetres of compost begin to dry. Keep lightly moist but never waterlogged. Reduce watering during winter.
Soil/Nutrition: Use a free-draining houseplant compost mixed with perlite and fine bark. Feed every two to four weeks during spring and summer with a balanced liquid fertiliser.
Humidity: Prefers moderate to high humidity. Position near other houseplants or use a humidifier if indoor air is particularly dry. Avoid misting directly onto the leaves.
Pruning and propagation: Remove damaged or ageing leaves as required. Propagate through leaf cuttings or division of mature plants.
