Begonia rex 'Black Knight'
Begonia 'Black Knight' is a dramatic rex begonia prized for its large, richly coloured foliage. Deep burgundy leaves are highlighted by a distinctive ring of pale pink and silver speckling that follows the outline of each leaf, creating a striking contrast and an almost painted appearance.
Its bold colouring and broad leaves make it a true statement plant for shelves, tabletops and indoor plant displays. Compact and bushy in habit, this variety delivers year-round interest through its extraordinary foliage, while mature plants may also produce clusters of delicate pink flowers from summer into autumn.

Begonia Care Sheet
Light: Bright, indirect light is best. Avoid direct sunlight, which can scorch the leaves and fade the dramatic foliage colours.
Water: Water when the top few centimetres of compost begin to dry. Keep lightly moist but never waterlogged. Reduce watering during winter.
Soil/Nutrition: Use a free-draining houseplant compost mixed with perlite and fine bark. Feed every two to four weeks during spring and summer with a balanced liquid fertiliser.
Humidity: Prefers moderate to high humidity. Position near other houseplants or use a humidifier if indoor air is particularly dry. Avoid misting directly onto the leaves.
Pruning and propagation: Remove damaged or ageing leaves as required. Propagate through leaf cuttings or division of mature plants.
