Begonia julau
Begonia julau is an exceptionally rare and highly collectable species begonia endemic to Julau, Malaysia. Its thin, asymmetrical leaves emerge glossy black with vivid pink spotting when young, gradually maturing to deep green foliage decorated with striking white spots.
This unusual tropical species thrives in warm, humid environments and is best suited to terrariums, glass domes or indoor plant cabinets. Its constantly evolving foliage colour and delicate pale pink to white flowers make it a fascinating specimen for collectors and rare plant enthusiasts.

Begonia Care Sheet
Light: Bright, indirect light or artificial grow lights are ideal. Avoid direct sunlight.
Water: Keep compost lightly moist but never waterlogged. Maintain consistent moisture without allowing the soil to dry out fully.
Soil/Nutrition: Use a very loose, airy substrate rich in organic matter with excellent drainage.
Humidity: Requires very high humidity and warm temperatures, making it ideal for terrariums, cabinets or glass domes.
Pruning and propagation: Remove damaged foliage as needed and ensure gentle airflow around the plant. Can be propagated from stem cuttings.
